A Night Cream. Do We Need It?

Usually during the day, we use a day cream to protect. But a night cream, we use it to repair our damaged skin or deliver the nutrients needed by our skin.

During the day, our skin has already exposed with contaminants like smoke, make-up, uv rays from the sun or air-conditioned room in the office makes our skin even dry. So, let the night cream do its job to repair our damaged skin. Hahah. Don't deny yourself when you look your face in the mirror and say. "Nah, my skin is just okay." Because all these damages happen microscopically and without we realizing it, we age faster than we suppose to. That is why an anti-aging serum is best applied during the night. The serum contains Vitamin C and E. These are anti-oxidants that fight free radicals that were released during the day. FYI, free radicals are released when our skins are damaged when exposed to contaminants.

The best time our skin absorbs nutrients is at night. Because that is when our skin cells undergo mitosis (additional of new cells). When cells undergo mitosis, of course all these cells need energy and nutrients so that all these process are able to complete. Sadly is that, it's hard to eat healthily and we don't really exactly know how much nutrients we need actually for our skin. So, by supplementing it with a night cream, wouldn't it be beneficial?

For those who has a sagging skin. It's super important for us to apply a night cream that has active ingredients that will lift up our skin. Do not look for a normal skin care product. It won't work for a sagging skin.

Besides, transepidermal loss of water happens (yeah, water can actually loss via our skin) at night. So, it's important for a person that has a dry skin problem to apply moisturiser at night. Water loss happens in many ways. Urination, sweats, breathing and trasnepidermal! So, if we are confident enough we are drinking enough water per day that would be great. But as for a busy working person like me, it's very challenging for me to drink at least 500ml of water everyday. I mean I try to! But, as an additional, I still apply my night cream because at least the night cream reduces the trasnepidermal loss of water.
